Maintenance Technician


Bucyrus, Ohio

Receives, stores and distribute materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, shop and mobile trucks to ensure accuracy and timelines of all job functions in the work centers.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct machinery, electrical, and equipment problems.

  • Assist in development or building of new equipment.

  • Set up and install new and replacement machinery/equipment as necessary.

  • Install and maintain various machine tools, control panels, switches, etc. within the shop.

  • Provide preventative maintenance on all machines, equipment, and buildings.

  • Capable of fabricating and welding machine parts and components.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

  • Must be able to work from drawings, sketches, specifications, and job layouts.

  • Must be able to use tools, materials, and equipment typical of a maintenance mechanic.

  • Must know basic carpentry skills.

  • Knowledge of HVAC.

  • Experience with mechanical power transmission systems.

  • Maintenance electrical experience.

  • Experience in Welding & Torching a plus

  • Perform light maintenance throughout the facility as needed

  • Great communication and leadership skills

  • Maintain communication with team members while observing details

  • Prepare, update and maintain logs and records

  • Support a zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility of safe work practices in all projects, activities and operations

  • Other duties as may be required


Education and Experience

  • H.S. Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred

  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required

  • 2 years materials, tool room or warehouse experience


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials

  • May work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protection

  • Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time


Work Site Environment

  • Covered roof area - temperature may not be climate controlled

  • Work outdoors

  • Primary work environment subject to extreme heat or cold for considerable amounts of time.  Must dress accordingly

  • Hearing protection shall be required in certain designated areas and during the performance of specific designated jobs due to noise levels greater than 80 decibels

  • Intermittent exposure to vibration when using impact tools

  • Scaffolds, floors, ladders and walking surfaces may be uneven
