Materials Handler


Position available at the following locations:

  • Bucyrus, OH

  • Marion, OH

Receives, stores and distribute materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, shop and mobile trucks to ensure accuracy and timelines of all job functions in the work centers.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping and receiving of loading and unloading trucks, checking in material and tools, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to work centers as needed

  • Sort and place materials or tools on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style and color or product code

  • Fill requisitions, work orders or request for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute to work centers

  • Ensure warehouse is clean and orderly using 5s housekeeping skills


Education and Experience

  • H.S. Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred

  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required

  • 2 years materials, tool room or warehouse experience


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials

  • May work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protection

  • Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time


Work Site Environment

  • Covered roof area - temperature may not be climate controlled

  • Work outdoors

  • Primary work environment subject to extreme heat or cold for considerable amounts of time.  Must dress accordingly

  • Hearing protection shall be required in certain designated areas and during the performance of specific designated jobs due to noise levels greater than 80 decibels

  • Intermittent exposure to vibration when using impact tools

  • Scaffolds, floors, ladders and walking surfaces may be uneven
